Our St Patrick's Day lunch last month was a great success! We thoroughly enjoyed singing Irish songs, eating pie & peas, drinking Guinness, sharing an Irish blessing or two, making shamrocks*, all while raising valuable funds for the Black Dog Institute, in the fight against teenage suicide.

Special thanks go to Eve Shepherd and Peter Joseph for sharing their own experiences, and moreover their inspiring strength to turn them into action.

Thanks also to our members Lily & Elaine for amazing organisation & decorations, MC Geoff, the Tokens (David Field & crew) playing favourite Irish songs, and lastly to @Norths for our meals!

* Significance of the Shamrock- Irish legend has it that while trying to convert the Irish into Christians, Saint Patrick used the shamrock to explain the holy trinity with each leaf representing the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The three leaves of a shamrock are also said to stand for faith, hope and love.
